I am a cancer survivor of 14 years. I have had many great nurses on my journey. They have all been great. I have been at the SIH Cancer Institute since its opening. I have been able to watch and notice all the nurses, but one stands out to me as a wonderful team leader as a nurse, Ashley Elder. She has been an infusion nurse and is always pleasant and attentive, always helping patients and other nurses with everything. She is always wonderful to everyone around her, very positive, thoughtful, smiling even when she has a tough load on a busy day, and always showing team spirit. It is a blessing to have someone who makes this journey a little easier because it is a tough journey. I go every 21 days for the rest of my life. A stage 4 breast cancer survivor.
