She went above and beyond her call of duty, and throughout the process, her resolve never wavered.
Ashley was tasked with the care of a hemodynamically unstable patient that needed a higher level of care. Throughout the day, Ashley received orders and other tasks to treat the patient, all while caring for four other patients and showing a potential new team member around the unit. Despite all of this, Ashley was able to maintain safety not only for the unstable patient but for the four other patients she was caring for. She acted as a patient advocate and pushed to have the patient transferred to the higher level of care. She handled calls from different services, coordinated lines to be placed on the patient, and kept the family updated with every step. She went above and beyond her call of duty, and throughout the process, her resolve never wavered. She worked diligently to ensure all her patients received the care they deserved. Ashley worked tirelessly to ensure patient safety, and she showed the prospective team member the true meaning of the TriHealth Way and the Always behaviors. I am proud to nominate Ashley for the DAISY Award; she is a patient advocate, strong nurse, and an excellent caregiver. She is a quiet leader on our unit who leads from the great example she sets. She deserves the highest recognition for maintaining patient safety in an extremely stressful time.
