Ashley has been nominated twice, both times from co-workers. Ashley was caring for a post-partum patient in the ICU who had bleeding complications and was quite unstable. The care was intense, taking a team of critical care experts to keep this patient alive. Ashley not only provided excellent nursing care, she also touched on the spiritual and emotional side.

Even though the patient wasn't able to hold her infant, Ashley arranged a visit prior to transferring the patient to a tertiary care facility. Ashley stated that having the baby close to her for that brief time would encourage her to fight to stay alive even harder. The patient was young, and the outlook was grim.

A few months later, the patient came to visit ICU and brought in a picture of her and her baby and complimented the staff for saving her life. Seeing that bond between nurse and patient was amazing! This care and compassion is what nursing and our hospital is all about! Thank You Ashley!
