She was a dedicated caregiver to my mother and participated in our grieving process.
My mother was diagnosed with metastatic squamous cell cancer, and Ashley was one of the many RNs who provided excellent care to her and went above and beyond all of our expectations. She was a dedicated caregiver to my mother and participated in our grieving process. Ashley shared her time and stories with my dad and me as we faced my mother’s end of life. We only knew Ashley for two 12-hour shifts, but she made us feel like the only people in the hospital. She shared, and we shared. We cried, and she cried. Ashley was instrumental in helping us bring my mom home with hospice care and family support. My mom took her last breath while we held her and thanked her for being a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and human. On that note, we want to thank Ashley for being a wonderful nurse, friend to us, and human. During one conversation, Ashley said she sometimes wonders if she weren’t a nurse, then what? We personally think she has chosen the perfect profession.
