A patient on med/surg was being discharged to hospice. This patient was from Florida and had come to Newnan prior to the hurricane to see his family for the last time and to see the birth of his new grandchild, as he had terminal cancer.
On the same day his granddaughter was born at Piedmont Fayette, he was admitted to Piedmont Newnan. Due to the risk of infection the family was unable to bring the newborn into the hospital or hospice. Aundrea went above and beyond to make arrangements to have the newborn brought to the ambulance bay at Piedmont Newnan as the patient was being brought out for transfer to inpatient hospice. The patient was able to take photos and video of this incredible moment when he met his granddaughter for the first time thanks to Aundrea.
