As soon as Practitioner Greene entered the room, I could tell she truly was worried about me and, in turn, made me worry about myself.
Nurse Practitioner Greene was absolutely amazing. I don't just think she made a difference in my care; she quite honestly made a difference in my life. I have been to quite a few VA appointments where the doctor told me what was wrong with me and prescribed pills and I honestly never really took any of it seriously because I foolishly had no idea what they meant by elevated levels of this and that. I am by no means saying that these physicians did not care but they did not go above and beyond. As soon as Practitioner Greene entered the room, I could tell she truly was worried about me and, in turn, made me worry about myself. She broke down my prediabetes condition like no other doctor had before; taking the time to break things down in layman's terms, even writing down the foods I should and shouldn't be eating. Next breaking down my cholesterol and how it was more than double where it needed to be and told me what I should and should not be eating. Then broke down how I have stage 2 CKD, which no doctor had ever told me. She prescribed me new meds and took me off of some that were probably hurting me. She spent an hour with me despite the fact she has close to 1000 patients as the need for VA doctors is quite scarce. SHE CARED and because she did, I finally do as well. I am proud to say I am taking my meds every day finally, even got myself an every day of the week, old man pill container, lol. I am running 3 times a week which I did not even do after my cardiogram as it really wasn't explained to me the best. I am drinking water, and this is a huge deal as I never drank water before. And I am eating healthy foods and stopped with Popeyes and Burger King. It has only been a month since my visit with Practitioner Eva Greene, but she truly made a difference in my life and, to be quite honest, may have added a few more years to it. She was more than a nurse to me; she was a Godsend!
