Barb and Madeline make sure that we are safe and our patients are safe and they take care of us. They invest in their teams.
Both Madeline and Barb have gone above and beyond to help me learn and grow as a nurse. I know that I can go to them with anything and will be met with knowledge, help, and guidance. They truly invest in each new member of our team and strive to make sure they are happy and doing well. They have known the kids and parents on our unit for years and do not forget a name or face. People trust them. All of the younger nurses know that we can turn to them for help without judgment.
Patient care comes first and as long as you are doing things with good intentions they will do whatever they can to assist. They provide a safe place to admit when you do not know how to do something and meet you with help free of judgment. They make sure that we are safe and our patients are safe and they take care of us. They invest in their teams. They work tirelessly and try to make sure we are happy. They go above and beyond to accommodate our schedules and to get to know us as individuals.
These women LOVE nursing. Nurses like Mad and Barb are the reason I wanted to become a nurse. They inspire us to keep going when things are not going how we want them to. They have done this job for decades and continue to do it with a smile. They truly love these children like their own and they recognize when we are doing a good job caring for them. They pass on their wisdom and provide the team with the strength to keep going on our worst days. They embody the spirit of nursing.
