Mrs. Freeman has gone above and beyond normal care to me and my family. I suffer from severe PTSD. Mrs. Freeman has made me comfortable and restored my faith in the medical team and the care I receive at the HHMH. No one else "likes" to "deal with me" because I have a wall up due to the PTSD. Not only has Mrs. Freeman broken that wall down, but she became someone I trust wholeheartedly, and I now have 1,000% confidence in her care and judgment.
When my provider left, I was worried about my new/next provider. I do not like being treated like a number or like I am an inconvenience. In all honesty, I dread the day that Mrs. Freeman leaves. When I was diagnosed with stage three multiple myeloma, I informed my provider and Mrs. Freeman about the diagnoses. Mrs. Freeman broke down crying, hugging me and my wife. Mrs. Freeman treats my family and me as if we were part of her own family and she goes above and beyond the call of duty in regard to my care. She makes sure I/we are comfortable which is a big issue for me; due to PTSD I am highly uncomfortable in public; Mrs. Freeman has helped me with that. And since she was so concerned with my well-being, she referred me to someone who eventually referred me to my current therapist, who has been my therapist for a couple of years now; all thanks to Mrs. Freeman.
So yes Mrs. Freeman, in my opinion, should not only receive the DAISY Award, but she should be an example of how to treat patients who have PTSD. Mrs. Freeman is the best asset you have in the clinic.
