Belinda is an excellent LVN in our unit. She consistently delivers excellent care to our veterans with high skills, full energy, and positive attitude. She not only knows how to do her work, but also knows how well she can get it done. Whenever and whatever patients needed, she always found the ways to meet patient's needs, made them satisfied and even changed their attitude. For instance, one time, according to the record, a confused patient with C. Diff positive, had been "refusing" vancomycin. The patient continued to be infectious for a long time. Belinda first took some time to talk to the patient and found out what the patient likes to take vancomycin with, such as jello, pudding, juices, boost etc. She did not mind making several trips to get different foods and let the patient taste one by one. Finally, the patient took the vancomycin as scheduled ordered by the doctor.

She persistently treats both patient and coworkers with dignity and value. No matter how stressful the situation is, how excessive loads of the work on her shoulders, she always maintains calm and pleasant. She is always polite, friendly, helpful and respects her coworkers and her patients with her sweet voice, beautiful smile and warm heart. She has an extraordinary ability to make the tense situation soft and the messy atmosphere pleasant. It did not matter to her if a patient has a family member or not, she treated all the patients with the same respect and provided the same excellent care all the time. She would give more time and efforts to those patient who lost their own ability to take care of themselves.

One day she took care of a confused patient who tended to curse, uncooperative with the care planned for him by his nurses and doctors. She continued talking to him in a sweet voice, smiling face, and giving him a warm bath with compassion. The patient enjoyed the interaction and was very cooperative with the care planned for him and did not curse that night.

She is very reliable and conscientious in our unit. She persistently fully devotes all of her working time. Efforts, energy, resource in providing excellent care to the veterans, administering medications, emotional support, accuchecks, incontinent care, comfort rounds 30min-1 hr, reposition of bedridden patients every 2 hours. She is always ready to play different roles in taking care of the patients. Whatever role she plays, she did the best jobs with high autonomy, making patients better day by day, all year round.
