It is common knowledge that a patient who suffers from any cardiac ailment is under depression. When he is admitted to the cardiac care unit in a hospital, he needs a lot of attention and moral support. He looks forward to a nursing staff who would make him feel comfortable and safe in the environment of the hospital.
Medication and expertise of the doctor go a long way in the recovery of a cardiac patient but nurses play a very important role in the process of his recovery.
As I suffer from AFIB (Flutter) and my doctor was giving me very effective treatment, I was in need of a smiling face which would reassure me that there is so much goodness in the world and that life is still worth living.
During my stay at Rex Hospital, I had a few fits of depression and I was on the verge of losing all hope. Benita Holland took great care of me and made me feel special. She came in anytime I needed help and attended to my needs, always smiling. Her smile when I was feeling sad made me happy and my mood became up and cheerful.
Benita is skilled and compassionate. She is a gem of a nurse because she has a naturally pleasant personality. She is alert and wastes no time in attending to the patient's needs.
I distinctly remember an incident when I was worried that the new medicine prescribed by the doctor could have serious side-effects. Benita assured me that I should not worry at all as Rex has very good doctors and "state of the art" technology. Of course, God's kindness and mercy come to those who trust in Him. I have never come across a nurse who is so much skilled and compassionate.

Benita was always cheerful and came into my room with a smile. She was very knowledgeable and took excellent care of me. She told me she trained a specific nurse, so in my opinion, Rex has 2 super nurses in every way! She is a wonderful asset to Rex Healthcare. Thanks again for all you do.
