My husband had a complex coronary intervention with Impella. Nurse Beth Dorantes admitted him to the ICU. Beth was extremely professional, caring and competent in the care she provided my husband, myself, and our sons. Beth provided easy-to-understand education throughout his stay. She walked him through every step of the process to remove his sheaths, explained what to expect during his recovery both in the hospital and after discharge home, and reviewed the important medications he would be on.
As a long-time RN, I have worked with hundreds of other nurses. I honestly can say that Beth is one of those nurses in which the profession is a caller for her. Beth is exceptional. Many nurses have great skill sets like Beth, but not all nurses can combine their skills with the emotional support that is so very important to patients. My husband was lucky to have Beth admit and discharge him from the ICU. Her care was personalized to the needs of him and our family. We have talked about the wonderful care Beth provided many times since he has been home. Our entire family feels so lucky that Beth cared for him in your ICU.
