Beth made it possible for one patient, who was on hospice care, to go to the ocean before he passed. It was the one thing mom wanted for her son to experience and Beth helped to make it happen.
Beth Heide has a true heart and compassion. She embodies all of Thrive SPC’s core values, most especially excellence and compassion! Beth suffered the loss of two patients over the past year. Each family shared with her supervisors that they could not have made it through this unbearable time without Beth’s support, her amazing nursing skills, and her calm demeanor in emergent situations. One mom stated, “she just got right up there and did what she had to do and was calm and natural.” Beth had the child stabilized before the paramedics could arrive. While also keeping mom calm and reassuring her. Beth made it possible for one patient, who was on hospice care, to go to the ocean before he passed. It was the one thing mom wanted for her son to experience and Beth helped to make it happen. When the family learned that Beth was going to be honored by Thrive Skilled Pediatric Care with the DAISY Award, they wanted to be involved. On a windy day, they joined Beth's Clinical Director to surprise Beth. The parents brought a photo of the child to include him in the celebration. Beth steps up anytime and anywhere she is needed. As a seasoned nurse working in a young company, she offers her opinion as to where Thrive SPC can improve. If she sees a problem, she offers a solution. She is a natural mentor who has taken many new nurses under her wing; she continues to mentor some of them to this day. Her Clinical Director is honored to have Beth on the Kingman team. “She is always positive and helpful, which reflects well on our team and our company and is a comfort to the families we serve. Beth is a true DAISY Nurse.”
