Bethany exhibits everything you envision when thinking about what a nurse should be. She shows compassion to the patient and to the family. As a mother of a critically ill child, over the last 10 years at Riley, I see a lot of nurses; when observing Bethany, I see that she takes the time to get to know her patients individually, as well as their family.
Bethany dedicates as much time as needed to make my daughter feel comfortable, to educate her and myself, and answer questions. Bethany follows through; she never once has hesitated to be an advocate for us with the doctor and has ensured we always had our questions answered. She took the time to check-in on our child and allowed us an opportunity to email her with any follow-up questions, concerns or pictures of wounds to check on the progress of healing.
Most importantly, Bethany always exhibited a genuine sense of caring and listened with not only her ears but her heart, too. We are forever grateful for her watchful eye, caring heart, and unwavering dedication to her patients. There are a few nurses who lead the pack in excellence, and I would say that Bethany is one of them.
