I don’t even know where to begin with describing how wonderful Ms. Betty was as my nurse. I was only on the unit for a few hours before Ms. Betty came on shift. I was anxious, overwhelmed, and exhausted. Ms. Betty instantly calmed me down and helped to make me feel less anxious. She explained everything so well to me and so patiently. She was so very caring and compassionate.

Later, during the shift, I started feeling so overwhelmed and anxious she came into my room and just took time to be with me, listen to me, and took time to help me talk things out. She advocated for me by calling the Doctor and getting me medications as needed. She made me feel truly cared for and made me feel like a person- not just a room number. She genuinely cared, which meant so much to me. Before the shift ended, she came by my room to see if I needed anything and to say bye. Ms. Betty is a perfect example of what a caring and loving nurse looks like.
