I have thought about nominating Bobbie Baker several times in the past but never took the time to do it. Last night a parent pointed her out to me and said “that lady is a beautiful person.”

Bobbie had taken care of their child last weekend. I was in the room with Bobbie during a peripheral stick for lab and watched her as she prepared this unresponsive patient for the procedure. She talked to the patient so sweetly and softly. She told the patient everything that was about to happen. She explained everything to the parent as well. This was the current situation but I have witnessed this same caring and compassion towards all patient encounters.

Another thing that sets Bobbie apart is that in the years I have worked with her on night weekends I can say that I have never heard her talk negatively about another staff member. She is always happy to help when asked and is a wonderful resource to me and others. She is also a very calm and excellent educator. I feel fortunate to work with such a kind coworker and excellent nurse.
