Barstow Community Hospital is pleased to recognize Boma Briggs, RN, as its latest recipient of the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. This international award, explicitly created for nurses, recognizes those nurses who go above and beyond the call of duty while caring for our exceptional patients. Nurse Briggs was nominated for the DAISY Award by six of her patients during the second quarter of 2024 and selected by the hospital’s nursing leadership as the winner.

One patient's family member wrote the following, "Boma was seen giving some heartfelt emotional support to a family member after their loved one passed away. Boma let the family member cry on her shoulder while she rubbed her back and whispered condolences."

Another patient said, "Boma made me feel at ease with her soft, caring voice; it calmed me down. Boma cares for and loves her patients. She goes above and beyond for her patients."
