Bonnie is a steward of resources and always looking for ways to improve the unit and make processes more seamless
Bonnie is a nurse that I have looked up to since I started working at Mary Bridge. She exemplifies all of MultiCare's values- Respect, Integrity, Stewardship, Excellence, Collaboration, Kindness, and Joy. She has the utmost respect for her co-workers, patients, and their families and treats each and every patient as if they were a family of her own. She is always honest and transparent and sets expectations for the day so her patients know what they can expect during her shift.

Bonnie is a steward of resources and always looking for ways to improve the unit and make processes more seamless. For example, she revamped our CRRT binder and cart so that it's more organized and easy for staff within the PICU to understand. Bonnie provides superior care to the pediatric patients within our unit. She explains scary procedures to patients in easy-to-understand terminology while often holding their hands and providing support alongside them. I've seen her wash and braid many children's hair after a long hospital stay and provide emotional support to parents and their children in devastating end-of-life situations. I've seen her go above and beyond for patients by providing compassionate, selfless care and celebrating a patient being able to walk again after being on ECMO for 2+ months.

Bonnie is a team player and works well with others. Not once have I ever heard her complain. Bonnie is the first to lend a helping hand on the unit and is always willing to pick up extra shifts or stay over if help is needed. She continually strives to keep learning more; I always catch her reading an article or looking at an upcoming conference in an attempt to learn more and level up as a nurse. Her wealth of knowledge is endless and she is always willing to teach newer nurses. She is a vital part of our team and in my opinion, a DAISY Award is long overdue for her. She's the nurse I'm grateful to work with and always strive to be like.
