Brandy, you have no idea how hard it is to tell you just how much you mean to my family and me, especially my mom. You are the only nurse who has ever made her smile, laugh, feel loved and like she still has a purpose after her worst fear of being diagnosed with cancer. Even after the doctor told her she was terminal and treatment would only prolong her life, one look at you, one smile from you and one touch from you lifted her spirits higher than ever. You took time out of your day to sit down and talk with us, to reassure us and to care for us. During times of darkness you helped show my mom the light at the end of the tunnel. You showed her what love, encouragement, sympathy and caring can really do for someone. I truly believe you are the reason she still has fight in her. Whenever she gets admitted to the hospital she prays that you are going to be her nurse, because nothing in that moment, brightens her day as much as you do.
I am currently going to be graduating nursing school in just a few short weeks, and If I could be half the nurse you are I'd be extremely grateful. To be able to touch my patients' hearts and lives the way you have ours, and to show them love, support and encouragement when they want to give up the way you did us. If I can just do for one person what you did for us, I'd be the kind of nurse I want to be. I can't thank you enough for everything you have done for our family.
