Breazy is the epitome of a nurse and caregiver. She makes the patient feel heard and understood, she is very friendly and welcoming which puts everyone at ease even though it is Neuro ICU, and she does an amazing job tending to the patient. B wasn't feeling well in ICU and was having trouble breaking a fever. She instituted toga-time, removing the robe from his upper body and surrounding him with ice packs. She checked on him regularly to refresh the ice and see how he was doing. She cared not only about his vitals, but also about him as a person. She also continually stayed calm under pressure. She helped multiple patients and covered for others during their breaks and even while being pulled in various directions, she maintained her cool and calm demeanor. She helped B overcome a big hurdle in his recovery process by helping him break his fever, listening to his concerns, and helping him feel like a normal person, not just a patient. She is the nurse he remembers most from his hospital visit because she was such a standout nurse. Also, as a visitor, it always made me smile to hear her "mahalo" on the speaker. Furthermore, she did a great job involving me when talking to and about B and his recovery and did a terrific job listening to me as well. She is the definition of patient care and nursing.
