Brenda Avischious exemplifies the modern nurse as a new grad blossoming into the young professional she is today. Brenda has stunned the 4th floor and has proven the nurse of today is a fierce member of our team. She brilliant, kind, and resourceful, and as a new grad she embodies all of the characteristics of a nurse. She never says no to someone in need of help whether it be a patient in need of something or a team member. She is first to answer call lights that may not be her own. She is a shining example of what we on the 4th floor strive for, caring for not only our patients but our team members as well.
Brenda is a new grad taking up to 6 patients and is the first to offer to take this many as her workload allows. She is able to use her judgment and be there for her patients as emotional support and provide thorough teaching like that of a seasoned nurse. She took on the new grad float pool position and is transitioning to one of the toughest med/surg floors we have here at St. Anthony. She has set the bar high for new grads, and helps mentor and lead other new grads on their quest to becoming valued members of our growing nursing community. I cannot wait to see what her future holds not only on the 4th floor but St. Anthony.
