I was a patient in the ER, and Brenda was my nurse when they brought me back to the room. At the time, I was having terrible pain and anxiety, and when it came time to put the IV in, I was scared to death. Brenda was so sweet throughout the entire process. She continuously reassured me that everything would be okay, she held my hand and even hummed a song. When I didn't think it was possible to get myself to calm down even a little bit, she was able to get through to me. After she put the IV in, she asked me if there was anything else she could do for me before she left, and she ended up bringing me a ginger ale. She showed nothing but compassion throughout the entire process, and when most people would have gotten annoyed with me when I kept asking questions and freaking out, she remained calm and just as sweet as could be. That meant so much to me since I had been suffering from horrible anxiety all week long. She was amazing.
