When we arrived, we knew my husband would be getting the best cardiac care. Everyone from the greeters to staff seemed to have taken a class in kindness. We came to have my husband physically healthy and found all staff concerned about his emotional health as well.
I preface my story with this information because Brett Galloway was the most unforgettable. From the moment he walked into the hospital room with a smile on his face, we sensed we were both important to him. Brett explained each step in the procedure and completed it with skill and gentleness. At this point, he could have been on his way but not Brett. He was concerned we were in a dark room with a wall for a view during recovery and asked the nurse to move us to the other side. What a difference in the last few days of our stay!
Brett was right, sunshine and a view were great. Again, he could have been done but not Brett. Before leaving that evening, he came by our new RN to see how we were and to chat. At our age time has become precious. Brett made us feel important; his smile and laughter were infectious. Without a doubt, he made our stay more tolerable and this Brett's kindness will not be forgotten.
