Personally, I look to Brianna as not only a leader but a mentor, as she exudes leadership, empathy, kindness, and professionalism every day.
Brianna is extraordinary. She has been in a leadership role for a number of years, and I have witnessed her growth from bedside nurse through NPDS, ANM, to finally, NM. It is a position that is well-deserved. Her knowledge, compassion, innovation, personability, and flexibility are something to aspire to. She sets aside dedicated time to speak to staff through their hardships or simply be a listening ear. She makes it a point to write birthday cards and sends emails when she notices someone has been working in a specific area that could be challenging too many times. She works from home consistently and over her time to make sure the department runs smoothly. She's helping to pilot the opening of a new core to be able to see patients quicker and more efficiently.

She tries to help staff maintain a personal work/life balance by advocating for protected time. She pushes for staff to attend education that would increase their knowledge. She is an asset, at the least, and I know for a fact that our department wouldn't run so smoothly if it wasn't for the tireless effort Brianna puts in every day. She goes above and beyond.

Personally, I look to Brianna as not only a leader but a mentor, as she exudes leadership, empathy, kindness, and professionalism every day. I have admired her drive and tenacity for years, and I am lucky to know her as a colleague. As my role within the organization has recently changed, Brianna has been an advocate for my work/life balance while maintaining her many obligations within the WED. She has reached out to me at home to make sure I am doing okay, and that I have the resources I need to succeed. Brianna actively helps champion our trauma day/blood drive by supporting staff in their schedules to attend. She volunteers for the Special Olympics of Delaware and is trying to arrange an ED 5K. She facilitates ED Nurses Week and buys cakes for the department every month to celebrate birthdays. She has also been a champion to better staff morale by letting staff choose their assignment for one day during their birthday month. She calls families back when there are grievances and listens to them thoroughly.
