Brian was our nurse for 2 days during his week-long stay. He took extra time to explain things in an easy-to-understand way. He was so humble and kind.
My husband was being sent home with a wound that required packing and multiple daily changes, and I was nervous because I'd never packed a wound before. Brian made me a diagram out of a cup with a wound cut out of it and did a step-by-step demonstration of how to pack the wound and the technique on how to apply the gauze, etc, and walked through the entire dressing change with me. I went from being very nervous to being reassured that I could handle the dressing changes and wound care.

He also took time to encourage our son, who is interested in the medical field, and they had a great bonding moment when he allowed him to use a stethoscope, and he was absolutely enamored with him. He's 3.5, and he was nervous and scared about his dad being in the hospital, and Brian got him to smile and laugh.

Brian was our nurse for 2 days during his week-long stay. He took extra time to explain things in an easy-to-understand way. He was so humble and kind. He made sure to come back to us and let us know that he did what we asked. If we had a question, he immediately took it to the charge nurse, the doctor, or the social worker as needed and reported back to us. He always wanted us to know that we were heard and that he was with us. He often said, "We are all in this together, and each plays an important part." He always had a smile on his face and was, in general, just a brightness in our stay.
