Brian is always the first to sit down with patients and families. We had a patient who had come back from Barbados for his second surgery. The family remembered Brian by name. He took this patient and family shopping, to the beach, and spent a lot of his spare time with them. Brian is a wonderful teacher and a great support for his fellow staff members.

Brian demonstrates extraordinary and compassionate care every time he works a shift, making this "ordinary" for him. He has a true passion for taking care of the pediatric heart patients and forms a bond with them that is unique, unlike anyone else here--connecting with them through his own cardiac history. He has provided patients and their families with exceptional care and often sees these patients after discharge, particularly our out-of-country patients. We are lucky to have such an extraordinary nurse as a member of our CVICU team.
