Brian consistently displays a team-player attitude. He’s either jumping in to partner on a project or leading projects and this is what makes him an astounding collaborative leader.
Brian is a leader that can be counted on to ensure goals are met, and operations continue to run smoothly. Despite working through not only additional surges in COVID, we also had the big freeze last year. Brian's expertise in dialysis was called upon yet again. We could not have functioned through it without his knowledge and guidance. COVID Operations over the last two years have been very difficult, but thanks to Brian's leadership and “can-do” attitude, his staff remained positive and eager to help. Even during this time, he received Tier-1 Employee Engagement. This is truly a testament to Brian’s leadership.

Thanks to Brian’s collaboration, communication, and credibility, we continue to achieve key metrics. Over the last few months, Brian, along some others, have been working on planning and opening a new Acute Care of the Elderly Unit. Brian took it one step further and not only sought out but is currently leading the way on NICHE certification for the hospital. “Nurses Improving Care for Healthsystem Elders (NICHE) imparts principles and tools to stimulate changes in clinical practice to achieve patient-centered nursing care for older adults in healthcare facilities. The vision of NICHE is that all older adults, age 65 and over, receive age-friendly, exemplary nursing care”.

Brian consistently displays a team-player attitude. He’s either jumping in to partner on a project or leading projects and this is what makes him an astounding collaborative leader. Brian is the Clinical Care Redesign (CCR) Process Owner for Congestive Heart Failure. He admirably manages up other leaders and is truly a humbling person. His persistence is one of his notable trademarks, and if MHSW ever gets their phlebotomy team, you can be guaranteed Brian had 99% something to do with it. Brian is also a graduate of the Memorial Hermann Nursing Excellence Leadership Academy.
