He goes above and beyond that which is required of him; he cares for each patient as if he's caring for his own loved one.
Nurse Hobbs was one of many nurses who was assigned to me to provide care during my stay on the ward. One of the significant things that stood out to me about Nurse Hobbs was his attention to detail, his compassion, and his devotion to his duty to provide care for all patients. He was on the evening shift, which can be one of the more difficult shifts to work on. The reason is that things begin to slow down and patients begin to feel more of their pain which can cause them to feel a little depressed from time to time. It was extremely refreshing to have a nurse who understood the needs of his patient. His knowledge of the plan of the entire medical team allowed him to make the right decisions in managing the pain based on medication that was available for my care. He went above and beyond his role to explain to me the rationale behind the right combination of medicine, which would give me relief of pain for a longer period of time. This method reduced the amount of time it took to control my pain which caused me to be comfortable and greatly reduced my anxiety/PTSD.

Nurse Hobbs's outstanding people skills afforded him the ability to engage with me in the day-to-day things that take place in our individual lives. The thing that stood out the most was his degree of compassion for the patients, especially in my case. He would always tell me what he was doing and why he was doing it and told me that he would get back to me with additional information per my request. I never had to wait very long for him to return with the additional information which I had requested. Unfortunately for myself, I've had many hospital stays, and oftentimes, the night shift has never been my best time during my stays. Some nurses who worked this shift don't always display the level of compassion that Nurse Hobbs did during my stay, but his conversations and genuine concern for my health and welfare made my stay very pleasant. He displayed the dedication that is needed by all medical staff, personal bedside manners, and compassion. He goes above and beyond that which is required of him; he cares for each patient as if he's caring for his own loved one. Thank you for an extremely job well done. The Holman family greatly appreciates you and your love, devotion, and dedication to caring for others in their times of need.
