I came into the hospital early in the morning. My water had broken but I was still only dilated to a 2. I knew I had a long day of labor ahead of me. Britney was my nurse and she knew I was nervous, not only about my daughter coming into this world but about the long day ahead. She became like a friend to me as she coached me through the epidural, which I was extremely nervous about as I hate needles. From there on, she just made the day so comfortable and happy in so many ways. I was in labor over 15 hours and pushed for about one hour. It was well after Britney's shift when my daughter arrived but she requested to stay. She said we were almost to the finish line and she couldn't leave me. This made me feel safe and so happy that she cared so much. She was the most amazing nurse and I'm glad she was there to greet my daughter as she came into this world.
