Brittany came in to care for my father-in-law and immediately made a connection with our family. From the time she came in the room, she was friendly and very aware of the emotions our family was going through. When she came in, she always addressed him by name and told him everything she was doing even though he wasn't responding back. This made us feel at ease to know she treated him as a person, not just another task. We felt comfortable asking her about medication, procedures, and the care plan. She took the time to explain those things to us regardless of how many questions we asked. We never got the impression that we were rushed and/or asking too many questions. Being able to hear how everything that was done was going to help him helped our family process what was going on. Every time she entered the room, she also checked in on us. The amount of focus and time Brittany spent on my father-in-law was exceptional. She was clearly taking care of him like he was part of her own family. She was his nurse for the entire weekend, and when she came in on another shift and was not assigned to his care, she still made it a point to come by and check on him. Brittany was a huge blessing to our family and helped this ICU stay more manageable for our family.
