Now, this might be a little late, but I was not aware of this award until recently, and I had to hunt down this specific nurse’s name. I was in the hospital last year delivering my son. I had a very traumatic labor experience. I had already gone through three misplaced/failed epidurals and was just in so much pain, and this nurse wasn’t even one of the actual nurses assigned to me. She heard my pain and took TWO hours of her time to help come in and massage me to help my baby get into position so that I could deliver him. Not only did she do that, but she was also very encouraging and sympathetic towards me. She was amazing, and to this day, I still thank her for taking the time to come into my room to help me, even though she didn’t have to. Now, there is a nurse who loves her job and makes patients feel just a little bit more comfortable.
