Raegan then helped personally fund the insulin for the patient.
Ragan has been a vital part of our team for a long time. She always has a positive attitude and never hesitates to help in anything we ask of her. She functions as charge nurse, preceptor, and stepped in as wound nurse. I received this today from the diabetic educator:
“There is a shining star in the Medical Unit and her name is Brittany “Ragan” Clark, RN. On Tuesday, Ragan was the RN for a patient I was seeing. I went in the room at 11:45 AM to assess needs and Ragan was reviewing discharge medications and insulin. The patient reported he has been unable to work for the past 3 months and did not have the money to purchase the Reli-On Walmart insulin. Case Management was assisting with medications through The Drug Store but was unable to assist with insulin.
Ragan then helped personally fund the insulin for the patient. I had stepped out of the room at that time and by the time I returned a few minutes later, the patient had left the room and hospital. Ragan stated the patient was very grateful for the gift. Ragan is truly a Bright, Shining Star. I am not shocked by this gift and by her pulling money out of her own birthday money because that is who she is. She is always giving the best of herself every day.
