Brittney Bledsoe is an amazing nurse. She is caring, compassionate, sympathetic, and an advocate for her patients. This evening she expressed all those amazing attributes that fellow co-workers have mentioned.
A patient with a terminal illness was in emotional despair. Brittney took her time sitting down to administer the patient's medications. Brittney discussed the patient's plan of care. Brittney took the time to help the patient determine what would be the cause of her emotional despair. They discussed why the patient was apprehensive about discharge. She included the husband at the bedside.
Brittney attended to all the patient's needs, physical, emotional, spiritual, and more. Brittney is a prime example of Kettering Medical Center's Nursing Excellence as she diligently worked with this patient for over a half hour. Not only did Brittney ensure the patient was comfortable but also took the time to explain medications with the patient and spouse. She is well known to the physicians for contacting them for any needs; again, a patient advocate. I am proud to work alongside Brittney.
