Brooke Coppcock has worked within the Alegent system for many years. I started working with Brooke when she was a unit secretary in the ED. At that time she knew her job so well, was a great resource, very helpful and friendly to everyone. She decided to further her career and go into nursing. What a wonderful choice she made! Brooke has developed into one of the strongest members of our ED team. She is active with committees, a preceptor and continues to be a great resource in our department. I have been here for many more years than Brooke - but she is my "go to girl". She keeps updated with new procedures, processes and techniques. She is helpful to everyone and has this contagious happy attitude that carries on into the department.
Brooke is also one of the most compassionate people I have ever met. She has shared stories with me about taking care of patients when she could actually feel the pain or suffering the patient or family may have. She understands the emotional vulnerability our patients and their family or friends have to endure. She comforts them, takes time to listen and does the little extra to go above and beyond to help them. Brooke is a true treasure and one we should all model ourselves after. She can make us laugh, cry and join together by her wonderful personality.
