He not only made each day bearable to accept the medical crisis she was in, but he also addressed our emotional needs.
Our mother was admitted to CCU after she had an accidental fall at home that led to her two hospital admissions. We met Bryce while he cared for her during her stay in CCU. Bryce cared for our mother as he would care for his own mother. We appreciated his communication skills with her and our entire family during one of the most challenging and unfortunate times of our lives. CCU brought another level of fear to all of us and Bryce made sure our fears were addressed. As busy as he was every day we went to visit our mom, he always took the time to explain to us her medical status and what was next in reference to her future care. He not only made each day bearable to accept the medical crisis she was in, but he also addressed our emotional needs. He is a new nurse to the nursing profession but has the qualities of a seasoned nurse with many years of experience with dealing with the medical crisis of patients and the emotional needs of the patients’ families. We trusted his nursing knowledge and care with our mom. We felt like a complete stranger had become part of our family through his loving and caring nature.
Despite the excellent nursing care and our mother giving it her all to stay with us, she passed away peacefully in August. We appreciate all the care, love and compassion she and our family received during this difficult time. Bryce was a true example of Florence Nightingale to address the medical, emotional, and spiritual needs of our mom and the family.
Bryce Doxey, exhibited all the qualities of a DAISY Nurse while our mother was a patient in CCU @ TGHS. Patient advocate, professionalism, compassion, knowledge and strong work ethic are the words that come to mind when I think of the care given to our mother by him. He truly is a nurse, which demonstrates how much he loves to care for patients at their weakest. He is a true asset to the nursing profession and the TGHS.
