Her smile would make him smile, which meant the world to our family.
My Dad was diagnosed with a very rapid form of ALS. He is literally deteriorating by the day. We took him for a follow up to his neurologist at NYU Langone and she immediately said to bring him to the ER, as his condition had gotten so much worse since the last visit.
Bryce took care of my dad over two consecutive 12 hour 7am-7pm shifts. At this point, my dad was nonverbal and could do absolutely nothing on his own. He had to have a feeding tube procedure while at the hospital. She was so kind, compassionate, and understanding. Even though they couldn’t formally communicate she was very patient and always had a smile on her face.
Her smile would make him smile, which meant the world to our family.
She took the time to thoroughly explain to me how to properly use the PEG and put my mind at ease so that we could take care of this need at home.
We don’t know how much more time we will have with my dad but are grateful that there are people in the world like Bryce. I urge you to present her with this award.
We are sure our dad feels the same way about her and would love to see her recognized for being an amazing person.
