My father underwent surgery at MEE last November, and returned in January due to noted manifestation of cancer at the wound site.
During both of his stays at MEE, the entire nurse and physician staff provided exceptional care, and as a team, they helped ease my father's short battle with cancer. He peacefully passed away on February 1st at Kaplan Hospice House.
It was Caitlyn, however, that left an indelible mark on my dad's heart, to the extent that when he was being rushed to MGH for cardiac and respiratory issues one night, he would not go until he gave Caitlyn a hug and kiss, and thanked her for everything she'd done to comfort and care for him. It was well past the end of her shift, but she stayed anyway. Because she cared. And I can't think of a better human quality for any healthcare professional to have than that, and Caitlyn exempted it in her every action. She also kept us informed every step of the way, mixing honesty with compassion.
