Candace not only does her job but goes beyond what is required. I have been struggling and feeling guilty about my dad's dementia and helping make decisions. I have no brothers or sisters to help and I needed help deciding what is best for my dad. Candace was understanding and kind. Her compassion was what I needed to help me because I am overwhelmed. I did not realize how difficult the process and decision making are until now.
For a long time, I have said I was going to keep him at home, but then different episodes keep happening with dementia, hallucinations, cooking, driving, etc. So, he has been at another hospital and the case manager helped and worked hard, but she was missing genuine compassion or just different personality.
Candace hugged me, cried with me, and eventually shared her own experiences with me which really helped me make hard decisions that I don't think I could have made without her.
