I have been an employee at SRMH for 20 years now. I recently suffered a big loss in my life (a family member) resulting in serious health issues. One day I ended up here as a patient. I was feeling lonely, extremely anxious, worried and frightened. I was very happy to see Candice. She was present at all times, it meant a lot to me. She comforted and reassured me. She was kind, caring and very concerned. She said, "We are all here for you". I was really touched. She reminded me that I have an extended family here.

Candice truly deserves to be commended. She represents our core values and our hospital extremely well. Candice continually maintains and understands the needs of a courteous and service oriented environment at all times in her department. She is extremely sensitive to the unique needs of our patients and co-workers. Amidst the continual change and uncertainty of these times in our profession she maintains a positive outlook. Candice stands out and should be acknowledged for her work ethic. She will say, "I'm just doing my job". I have noticed that even with all the activity in the department there is a calm feeling when Candice is working. When talking to MDs or patients her manner is smooth and natural. You can see she is passionate about her career choice. I believe that the patients would get a feeling of trust from her and their worries would be at ease.
