Cara is very caring and helpful with her patients. She always made sure that I felt safe and comfortable while I was under her care. If I ever needed anything, she would always have it right away. She has a way of making patients feel safe and comfortable just by being there. She was by far my favorite nurse during my time in ICU, and I still wander over to see if she is working so I can say hi.
*****
Cara not only took care of our son's medical needs but also went above and beyond in making sure his emotional needs were met. She would put his needs before her own consistently, sitting at his bedside to read to him and making sure she was there for all moments that he needed her, including some of the most terrifying. Even when she wasn't assigned as his nurse, she made a point to come see him and make sure he was doing OK, including when he was brought back in after discharge by Life Flight. She would also stop by to see him on the floor after he had been moved out of the ICU, which always lifted his spirits and put a smile on his face. She was so much more than a nurse to our whole family. She was a kind soul who made this long hospital stay bearable. We will miss her.
