Caren lives the definition of a hospice nurse every day. She has worked in the hospital, the nursing homes and in patient homes. She is dedicated to the care of her patients and is not afraid to "get her hands dirty". She moves furniture for hospital beds, installs hand rails, holds her patient's hands for comfort and sometimes, she is the last gentle voice that people hear when they are leaving this world. I have witnessed her answer questions honestly that no one else would answer and provide comforting education and reassurance. She is funny and laughs with her patients and she is encouraging and realizes the importance of quality of life. She works more than she should but that is because this is her passion... She is my hero.
