Carmina is a wonderful leader and nurse. She truly is exceptional and always willing to help. Her passion for the NICU babies is without measure. She is always making sure that every neonate on our unit receives the best care possible. She constantly helps the staff grow and learn more so they can help the patients the way Carmina does. However, Carmina's DAISY Award qualifications truly manifest themselves when she speaks to parents. She has such a calming voice and takes the time to help parents understand the NICU. I have seen her multiple times calm tearful mothers and reassure them.
Carmina has a wonderful heart and her compassion is seen in her everyday dealings in the NICU. She really makes a world of difference in the NICU for her patients. She has personally mentored me and helped me grow, something no one asked of her but saw me struggling as a new nurse and took the time to do. Her compassion doesn't stop with patients, and she's always lending an extra hand wherever needed.
Carmina is a wonderful team member. She goes above and beyond for her unit and the other units when she does Division Lead. She comes in on her days off either for a couple hours to place a PICC, or to cover a shift. She is very caring and compassionate to the little ones she cares for and their family members. Carmina does all this and can always be found with a smile on her face.
