Our 90-year-old mom was admitted over the weekend for a stroke and several other complications. Being diagnosed last year with cancer and dementia, our mom and the whole family have been most worried and distressed about her health issues and treatment during this latest crisis. Thanks to the amazing care and devotion of all staff of all disciplines to help our mom to recover. We especially would like to nominate Carol Beebee for going above and beyond in caring for our mom and our family members with selfless compassion, patience, love, and understanding. When we first learned that on top of everything, our Mom would need to have a different temporary living arrangement to be isolated, our Mom and sisters were most stressed out, and Carol was right there to take her time to provide emotional support and reassurance, clear handouts for education (checking to make sure we understand & encourage questions), and offer us much-needed hope, peace, and strength. Our multicultural extended family has a complicated dynamic, and Carol was non-judgmental and understanding, patiently answering different questions & concerns from different family members. Carol is our Angel/ Bodhisattva through this storm, and we are most grateful and appreciative for her transpersonal care, calming presence, cultural sensitivity, and endless compassion.
