Carol showed extraordinary compassion and caring during a very difficult delivery. What is normally a very happy time for a mother and father was not the case today. Mom's special delivery would only live for about 2 hours after birth. Delivery occurred by C-section, requiring mom to need extra nursing care on top of much needed emotional support.

Carol stayed by mom's side during the delivery and the remainder of her shift. She embraced the family and the siblings of the baby, going above and beyond to meet their needs during this terrible situation. Carol ensured that mom was not in physical pain and that she was comfortable while in PACU. The patient's family, friends, and pastor were taken to PACU as soon as mom was stable and Carol saw that they were comfortable and supported.

Carol helped to ease the emotional pain and stress for all involved. Her tears and kindness will never be forgotten.
