Carolyn is always kind and compassionate to patients and their families. She takes the time to call and talk to the families every day. She is truly deserving of this award!
***
Carolyn compassionate with the patients; she makes herself personally accessible to the patients' families and loved ones. I see her go above and beyond on a daily basis fulfilling not only her duties, but also helping the other staff. I see her as more of a nursing coordinator, assisting the physicians, other nurses, social workers, the Baker act specialist, and the techs. I admire her work ethic and accuracy in such a high-pressure environment. In all the chaos, she always does what is best for our patients.
***
"Patients are always first"; that's Carolyn's philosophy when it comes to patient care. She works well with the staff, patients, and their families. I work mostly with Carolyn on the psychiatric unit that provides acute care for a very challenging patient population. I walked onto the unit and Carolyn was playing a patient's favorite song for him to try to deescalate him. I truly think that this small example shows how much she is willing to "go outside the box" to care for our patients instead of using PRN meds. Thank you Carolyn!
