Carolyn exudes professionalism from her impeccable appearance to the level of expertise she displayed during my interaction with her. I have a chronic illness so I have experienced many medical personnel. Though most are good and deserve utmost appreciation, few rise to the level of care administered by Carolyn. She entered the room and after introducing herself & providing a summary of my procedure, she asked to see my veins so she could assess what size needle she would use for a blood draw. I could have wept. She was going to personalize the experience to me! As she examined my arms, she noticed bruising from a previous draw weeks prior. She took the time to inquire about it. After learning that it was within 30 days, she offered to request that provider for results preventing me from having to go through having blood drawn again. This was within the first 5 minutes of meeting her. I have never had anyone go out of their way to be that helpful before. She could tell that I was nervous so she offered a nice warm blanket, and snacks for my husband and I. She then made sure we knew exactly how the rest of the experience would go: who would do the procedure, who to expect next, etc. By the time she left the room, I felt a combination of calm and deep gratitude. I am a spiritual person, so I don’t believe in coincidences. God intended for us to receive care by the hands of Carolyn on that day, and I am extremely grateful that she was my nurse! Chances are I’ll never see her again, but I will always remember the experience. She deserves DAISIES, roses, tulips. In fact, she deserves the whole garden.
