Carrie came in there to check on us, hugged us, and cried with us. While in the ICU, Carrie checked on J and even brought her a gift bag containing J's favorite chips.
Our daughter, J, was diagnosed with a frontal lobe tumor that required surgery. Carrie was J's nurse the two days prior to her surgery. Not only did she take great care of J, but she was so compassionate in listening to her and getting to know her. During her surgery, my wife and I went back to J's room on the second floor because we wanted to be alone. Carrie came in there to check on us, hugged us, and cried with us. While in the ICU, Carrie checked on J and even brought her a gift bag containing J's favorite chips. After a few days, we were moved back to the 2nd floor, but on the East side (Oncology). Carrie stopped by our room multiple times over the next week to see how J was doing. Every time we saw her in the hallway, she would ask about J. It was like we had an extended family member on the floor. Every nurse we encountered during our 11-day stay was great, but Carrie went above and beyond. We are so thankful for her and believe that she deserves public recognition by receiving the DAISY Award.
