Carrie approached my grandmother at eye level, speaking in soft, gentle tones and patiently working to communicate despite the language barrier. This personal attention and commitment to making my grandmother feel safe and cared for truly meant the world to us!
I would like to nominate Carrie for the DAISY Award in recognition of the compassionate care she provided to my grandmother during her hospital stay. My grandmother was admitted for pyelonephritis and a shoulder fracture in November. From the moment Carrie walked into her room, she showed kindness and understanding. She took the time to explain every detail of her care and treatment in terms we all could understand. Carrie approached my grandmother at eye level, speaking in soft, gentle tones and patiently working to communicate despite the language barrier. This personal attention and commitment to making my grandmother feel safe and cared for truly meant the world to us! Carrie was also extremely attentive to my grandmother’s pain management, always ensuring that her medication was given on time.

One day, Carrie noticed changes in my grandmother’s neurological status, acting quickly to initiate a rapid response. Her sharp clinical skills and swift action made a critical difference! She kept our family informed throughout the entire process. Carrie even took extra time to update my mother, who was there visiting, and went out of her way to bridge any language gaps with patience and empathy.

Carrie’s dedication, attentiveness, and genuine compassion gave our family great comfort during a challenging time. She embodies what it means to be a NURSE and we are deeply grateful for her remarkable care.

Thank you, Carrie, for going above and beyond for my grandmother.
