S was a special case from the beginning, she was admitted and induced for high blood pressure. She was panicked from the start because we had lost a child previously. Her son, M, died at eight months to SIDS. S had been terrified the whole pregnancy that something was wrong with the baby. Carrie was told this and she took to the information amazingly, she was so reassuring. In all this, we had seemed to be so worried about the baby, we never thought something could happen to S. After birth, S began to hemorrhage and hemorrhage badly. As soon as Carrie realized this, she immediately jumped to action. She jumped on top of S and effortlessly tried to stop the bleeding. She called for help of the other staff, who also worked fast and with so much professionalism. Carrie never wavered in her care, she dictated the room, she told people what to do. She never showed a look of fear and seemed to know exactly what to do all while being so reassuring and comforting to S during this terrifying time. Carrie is a true DAISY Nurse. We are so thankful for Carrie that day and always will be.
