Carrie was my nurse, she always had a smile on her face and was friendly. She made me feel at ease. On one visit we were talking, in the middle of the conversation she paused and looked at the monitor. She said there were some irregular heartbeats. After additional tests, it showed a severe blockage in the main arteries of my heart and I needed surgery. I am grateful that Carrie walked into my room that day and saved my life.
As the wife of the patient, I want to add that Carrie treats the total person and not just the presenting problem. She discussed and addressed our concerns about the use of pain medication for a recovering alcoholic. She has the ability to make the entire family feel that we were her only patients.
