Catherine has battled through a lot this year with her husband's illness and death. Through all of that, her quality of work was not impacted. Since I started two years ago, Catherine has stood out with her dedication to providing exceptional patient care and never settling for anything less than perfection. She is always an advocate for her patients and will always stand up for them.
When COVID started, we initially did not allow her to go into rooms due to her immunocompromised husband and daughter at home. However, she was adamant about helping out in some capacity. She became a spotter, which was a good fit with her attention to detail. She was instrumental in helping develop many of our workflows with donning and doffing, as well as helping me develop our proning process and protocol.
After her husband's passing, she returned to work and began taking care of COVID patients without hesitation. She provided nursing care and emotional support to one of our own battling COVID during some of his toughest times.
In summary, Catherine shows dedication to her craft and provides exemplary patient care. She is an amazing nurse and patient advocate. I would not hesitate to have Catherine take care of any of my family members in a time of need.
